AWOL (A Way of Life) believes in the philosophy that an addict/alcoholic can get and stay clean and sober with the help & support of another. It is our continued mission to provide clients with ongoing help necessary to take the crucial steps to recover their lives by:
- taking responsibility for themselves; physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually
- taking responsibility for their home and neighborhood by participating in the upkeep of their interior and exterior home; and
- taking responsibility towards getting and maintaining employment and/or educational opportunities
Our Philosophy
We believe in a strong 12-step program. clients are required to attend five 12-step meetings per week, as well as obtain and use an NA or AA sponsor and become involved in a home group.
Life at AWOL (A Way of Life)
Clients living at AWOL (A Way of Life) are expected to work or attend school full time. Transportation to and from their jobs or school is the responsibility of the client. Clients are permitted to have their own cars with appropriate legal documentation.
The clients of AWOL do their own food shopping and prepare meals in a well-equipped kitchen. Pots, pans, dishes and utensils are provided.
Chores are rotated weekly among the clients, and must be completed in a timely manner. All clients are expected to respect others by keeping the house and surrounding areas clean.
